Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse qualification
  • Preferably with experience in neurological or specialist palliative care
  • Relevant post-registration training or willingness to gain within 1 year
  • Commitment to continued professional development
  • Awareness of current legislation within the independent care sector
  • Completion of NMC recognized accredited mentor training
  • Ability to mentor students and less experienced staff
  • Commitment to service user involvement
  • Ability to implement and monitor clinical standards
  • Demonstrable interest in the client group
  • Proven ability to build and lead an effective team
  • Ability to actively support and participate in change
  • Ability to work in a complex and stressful environment with effective coping strategies
  • Prompt response to problems and ability to implement solutions
  • Initiative in an unsupervised setting
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to have a flexible approach to working patterns
